Im about to upgrade my gpu to PowerColor HD6870 and i know that im going to get bottlenecked.
Im currently using dual core e5300 processor alongside with ddr2 2gb memory but i will upgrade that too, but my concern is, can the motherboard cause bottlenecking too, so will i have to upgrade that too? Its gigabyte ga-p31-es3g.

Are you going to add more RAM? There is no sense in getting a good GPU when you don't have enough RAM to play any new games anyways.

The GPU is PCi-E 2 and is backward compatible to your mobos PCI-E 1 slot, you should be fine, possibly but doubtful a small bottleneck from the CPU
