My computer has been having this problem for at least a couple of months now. I have been trying to find a solution but I have had no luck. It happens around 1-5 times a day and is very very annoying, especially if it happens while i'm playing a game.

PC Specs

Motherboard: Msi B85 G41
GPU: R9 270x
CPU: i5 4670
RAM: (4x4gb) 16gb corsair vengeance ram
HDD: WD blue
PSU: NZXT 650w HALE82

I ran my 270x on fur-mark and its temperature got to above 90c it ideals at 48c <-- I don't know if this is helpful

dump from WhoCrashed

On Sun 8/3/2014 1:11:08 AM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: Unknown (0x00000000)
Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF8800F0FA2AC, 0xFFFFF88005A32950, 0x0)
Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
Bug check description: This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error.
Google query: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

I also have been getting kernel event 41 with event 89 directly under it

Start into bios safe mode (F8) http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/advanced-sta...
and disable auto restart on failure.

Then you need to work out what's causing the failure.

Bugcheck code: 0x3B is a corrupted graphics driver. Do a diskcheck with repair. Do a virus scan.

the solution for that kind of problem its very hard to find.your may wanna run some test like memtest 95,scan for viruses with cccleaner and see if its a hardware or software related problem.

i have already scanned all of my ram individually with memtest and thy are all fine

So - have you stopped the restarting?

If so, then check cpu temps in bios/uefi and post the results. Quite often these problems are caused by cpu overheating.

If it's just idling, then it's too hot.

Blow out the case - especially fans, filters and coolers. Bump up your cpu fan speed. Post back with idle temp then.

That's better - is it a hot day? If its over 30C then 39C idle is OK.

test your CPU temperature with
http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/
while playing games leave it open , alt tab after 3-5 min while playing check your maximum/minimum temperature ,if its above 60c+ , u may need a better CPU fan cooler .

hmm , give it a test with the software i linked to you , sometimes the cooler isn't placed well , so to cut the doubt of CPU heating while playing games , give it a test , wont take 5 min :)

That's pretty good.

Is it still restarting even after disabling auto restart on failure?

If my cpu is fine does that mean it could possibly be my gpu overheating

I'd rather have the bios reading.

We still need to work out what's going on.

Do a bios/cmos reset.

Bugcheck code: 0x3B is a corrupted graphics driver. Do a diskcheck with repair. Do a virus scan.

what should i use for the virus scan

Avast and Malwarebytes

Do the bios reset first. F2 into bios on start up and see if you can find a reset.

i looked on msi website and it says In order to clear the CMOS RAM data, you have to short the jumper JBAT1 on the motherboard during system shutdown.

If it will run long enough -

Download HWInfo and run Sensors. Post the results - usually 3 screenshots in TinyPic or similar.

Still running OK?

According to that, you cpu is still running hot - 51C
It should be 40C max idle and 50C max gaming.

You need to re-seat your cooler - power off. remove cpu cooler fan,. Remove cpu cooler. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean old thermal paste off cpu top and cooler bottom. Put a pea size drop of new Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste in the centre of the pcu. Put the cooler back on. Put the fan back on and connect it.

Also your graphics card is getting too hot - 78C probably because it's voltage is too high - 1.206V. Drop the voltage by 100mV (use Afterburner)
