Hard drive swap

I made another thread but it hasnt got any responses probably because it was in the wrong area. I would like to know if I could put my Acer Aspire 5515 Hdd(180gb) into my Dell Latitude D830.

The physical hard drive? Sure. It would seem to be a standard laptop drive.

The drive with an existing OS and hope it boots? Probably not.

If they physically fit and have the same connectors, yes.

oh do you guys know if it fits like the Dell Latitude D830 came out in 2007 and the Acer in 2009. I think they didnt have sata 3 connectors i think this is either ide(most likely not) or a sata.
