Never overclocked before but I looked into it and figured out some newbie tips and templates I could build off of to OC everything alright.

My current system:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($238.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($124.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($83.20 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($139.00 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($52.92 @ Amazon)
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 280X 3GB Double Dissipation Video Card ($295.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Silverstone TJ08B-E MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($44.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1155.06

I OCed it to 4.5 GHz atm and I'm planning to OC the uncore and RAM as well. Been benchmarking the system for about an hour now with just the CPU OCed and I got this:

Is it safe that my CPU Throttling is maxed at 7% with overheating? I've seen pictures of stable OC builds at 4.5 GHz after running AIDA64 for an hour and I don't notice that CPU Throttling red text.

Try increasing the H80i's fan speed. If it still overheats I don't think the cooler can handle the 4690k at 4.5GHz. Also check to see if the liquid cooler is properly seated on the CPU.

Can't see your cpu temps in that pic.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/8227/devils-canyon-review... - you shoul;d get to 4.5

Core 1 is 82 degrees
Core 2 is 86
Core 3 is 88
Core 4 is 75

Core 1 looks like it spiking into the 100s. Core 2 looks like mid-upper 90s.

What's the cpu/case/package temp? From your bios/uefi

I'm looking at this thread but I'm extremely confused because the Haswell processors/Z97 mobo I use has so many different settings when it comes to overclocking.

In the thread you linked it says I should have my CPU LLC to Level 8, Level 6 is as high as it goes for me in the CPU VRIN Loadline Calibration and that's set to Extreme.

CPU Volts on other hand I'm unsure as to what setting that directly correlates to:
CPU VRIN External Override - Possibly somewhere around 1.7-2 V
CPU Vcore - Currently have it at 1.34V
CPU Ring Voltage - Have it at 1.2V

I'm confused as these are templates I've read around about and it doesn't seem to work, especially in the OCCT testing which my first core shoots up to 95 degrees Celsius in under 10 seconds.

I just feel so overwhelmed by all this but I'm trying to learn from my mistakes so I can finally do this

In my BIOS I see

CPU Temp: 72-73 degrees celsius
System Temp: 37 degrees celsius
PCH Temperature: 44 degrees celsius just sitting in BIOS

What about my CPU LLC only be able to be set to 6 (Extreme)?

Should I set my CPU VRIN External Override in between 1.7-2V?
CPU RING Voltage necessary to set somewhere? Maybe 1.15-1.2V?

What about the Uncore OC? Is that necessary or would that just be overkill?

My system seems to be crashing a lot now.. even using Gigabyte's Easy Tune program and using their default extreme setting doesn't boot.

Read up on how to overclock your cpu.

Reset your bios back to default.
