Best budget reliable motherboard for i5 4590

My computer configuration so far looks like this

CPU: i5 4590
GPU: Asus GeForce 750ti

Ram: some 8g 1600 DDR3 ram (waiting for a sale)
Storage: WD 1t blue standard HDD
PSU: 500W Corsair

I was looking around for a motherboard in the $80-$100 range that is reliable and long lasting.
I plan on getting a Hxx type since I don't plan on overclocking.
The socket type is L1150, and atx size is preferred.

Some friends recommended this for my build, (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128712&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=) and it seemed like a pretty neat choice.

Could I get some expert opinions and suggestions on what motherboard to get?
Many people said that expensive motherboards just support more features, rather than being simply "better". If that is true, I don't really need a mobo with tons of features I probably won't use.

Thank you for your time!

  1. I recommend going with an i3 4150 instead, as it's an amazing budget gaming CPU. This will allow you to spend more an a better GPU such as a GTX 760 or R9 270X, which will make a VERY big difference in games. :)

This is a great budget H97 board. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-h97pcmate

Yes the 4590 is a great CPU, but the 4150 is fine for gaming and a better GPU is a much better investment than a more expensive CPU as it results in MUCH better gaming performance. You should know this. :S

Yes, the Pro4 is a better choice than the MSI board as it is the same price and is better quality.
    Nice recommendation, Blackbird. :)

Right about that.... I already bought my processor lol. It wasn't that expensive though, $160.
And I'm just going to do light gaming, the rest is mostly for university work.

edit: actually, I already bought all of my parts except the ram and a mobo.
  6. 4590 will serve you well.

You made the right choice then, considering most of what you will be using it for is uni work! :)
The 750ti is a decent card, but if you can afford it, an R9 270, R9 270X or GTX 760 will perform much better and will allow you to max out most games at very playable frame rates. :)

Wow. Now I really do feel stupid. Thanks for pointing that out.

The 750ti will be just fine, but if you want great gaming performance too you should follow my advice on the GPUs. :)

I didn't sleep at all last night, I assumed the build was for gaming for some reason. Sorry all. :(

Lol, I was also thinking why you recommended a gaming build.
And maybe later down the road, if I have an awesome gpu, I can't focus on my studies.
