Hey again guys! I'm back with a 2 times bigger case, Thermaltake V4 Black Edition and a hyper 212 evo CPU cooler. Had overheating problems with every single part in my old case, so I upgraded it a little, as much as my budget alowed.
Case came in with 1 back exhaust fan, bought another of the same design and manufacturer for the front intake and placed another exhaust at the top from my old case.
There's still space for 3 more fans which I plan to buy when the store gets more in stock, bought the last one.
Now that it took me a day and a half to put everything inside the new case and plug all the cables, I finally got to turn the PC on.
Downloaded SpeedFan 4.49 and found out that my GTX 580 is still running hot while idle. EVGA Precision, SpeedFan and MSI Afterburner show Min 64C / Max 64C, but I wonder why doesnt the fan speed increase?
System 49C
CPU 46C
Aux 29C
HD0 29C
Core 45C
Cpu temp dropped for like 17C down with the new Heatsink and cooler, was at 62C @ idle with the stock.
Also on SpeedFan I see:
Fan 1 - 12 RPM (wtf?)
Fan 2 - 2974 RPM
Fan 3 - 0 RPM
Sys Fan - 1082 RPM
CPU0 Fan - 1089 RPM
AUX Fan 1029 RPM
CPU1 and AUX 1 Fans - 0 RPM
What's the Fan 1 and why is it only at 12 RPM? The Fan 2 is spinning a bit too fast maybe?
The fans arent loud, or I just got used to the tractor I had before so this sounds like humming to me. ^^
Also I increased Voltage to 1.38, the CPU is not clocked, it's an advice from a guy that works in the PC shop I bought all this stuff from.
Do You think I should unseat the GPU, blow the dust out with compressed air and re-apply new thermal paste? Is the thermal paste for GPUs and CPUs the same? Since I got new paste with the new cooler master heatsink and cooler, don't think I have any left of the old one, at least not enough to cover.
Any other tips or suggestions are very welcome and thanks in advance for any comments. I want to make everything right and play games without having to worry about anything.
Mobo: ASrock A790 GMH /128M
CPU: AMD Phenom XII 940 Black Edition
GPU: EVGA GTX 580 1,5 GB
RAM: 8 GB DDR2 (4x2GB)
PSU: Corsair 750W
EDIT:
Just found this out!
Is my GPU fan dying or are the sensors for it dead?
