I have posted a lot on this website and have some fine insight and valuable input, for all of which I am thankful. After tweaking and squeezing my budget I have come to the following parts for my upgrade. Can you tell me if I will be able to play most games on high to ultra and if this will be future proof for about 4-5 years?

CPU- i5 4440
Motherboard- Asrock B85 Pro 4/Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H
Graphics Card- Sapphire R9 270x 2GB
Power Supply- Corsair CX600
RAM- 4GB 1600 (Will upgrade to 8GB in a few months)
Case- Antec X1-t(two fans)

I could look at the i5 4570/4590 at best, or a better GPU for +30$, but for that I will need to get a cheapass MSI H81M-E33 motherboard. I still though haven't really considered AMD Cpu's which I hear have 6-8 cores. But I am absolutely not looking to overclock as is obvious with the low motherboard budget I have. If I can get an fx 6300 or 8320 with no overclock, without much of a difference in performance I'd be happy. So what are your thoughts?

Solution
The i5 + 270x is really solid for 1080p gaming. It won't max out all games but it'll be extremely playable for many years to come. Also, as mentioned, i5 is low maintenance and will be good at stock.

I have a budget of about 650$. Am in India so that's around 40,000 rs. And I am upgrading all the parts I have listed. I have an HDD already along with a monitor/tv and peripherals.

I did consider the i3 4130 too but it has only two cores. I need something that'll last another five years till I finish college. Honestly though, if the i5+r9 270x can go strong till FIFA 19 I'd be happy because that's the game I'll be playing the most.

Thank you. So does it sound good with a b85 chipset motherboard? When the time comes I will upgrade to an i7. Then, I will either crossfire with the R9 270x or maybe buy a stronger single GPU whatever would be feasible then?

In 4 years there'll be a new chipset meaning you can't simply put a i7 in place of the i5. I'd suggest planning on upgrading cpu/mobo in 4/5 years. If in 2/3 years your gaming performance starts getting weak then you simply upgrade the GPU. Forget about using 2 GPUs, cuz it is really only for high resolution or multiple monitor gaming. You are better off sticking to one solid GPU.

Okay I will go with the 4440+r9 270x. I do think I'd be better of instead of with an fx6300 and an r9 280x as later when I upgrade to an 290x or some other high end card, I will see much more of a difference. This also seems energy efficient which'll help me save a little. I must thank you envy14tpe and also esco sid, really appreciate it. Lastly if you don't mind giving me a little more advice, is it okay if I go with a cheap arse h81 chipset board to save money as later I will have to buy a new one with an i7? :)

I am looking at the gigabyte h81m-s1. It doesn't have usb 3.0 in front and has PCIe 2.0 instead of 3.0. Also I'll be using 3-4 fans on the case but this one has only 1 fan header. I'll have to find a splitter or an adapter to connect fans to molex, if they make those.

I'd just get the MSI B85M-G43. Seems little better than the Gigabyte H81M-S1. I can't find much info on the Gigabyte model. It has lots of fans connectors otherwise get low rpm fans (1100rpm) and plug them into molex and run the fans at full speed with no control.
