Games Freezing and or Crashing!

Hi, i have recently upgraded my processor to a core 2 duo E6700. I previously had a Celeron D 356. After the upgrade, all my games are now crashing and freezing. For example, Minecraft runs at almost 200 fps on max settings, but after about 5 min, i get this wierd colorful render distance. Or sometimes, my screen will just fill up with colorful pixels. I know none of my components are overheating via hwmonitor. Also, i sometimes get this: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3007/~/opengl-message-%E2%80%9Clost-connection%E2%80%9D So what could be the problem here?

First of all you need to TOTALLY remove all the old drivers. Use this link.
http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
Note:
Select the respective company(i.e Nvidia or ATI) drivers to be uninstalled.
Use clean and restart option.
And then install the new drivers after rebooting.

Yes, it was laggy, but playable. BFG 8800gt Factory OC'ed. Yes their the latest drivers.

I just did this and i still have the problem.
