PC reboots while under heavy load

Hi guys, I have recently put together a PC, and my problem is the following:
If I play games that puts my PC under heavy load (like Battlefield 4) I usually get a red screen with no text on it. Then I have to restart my PC.

I tried to solve the problem myself, so I started stress testing. I stress tested my GPU using OCCT. It was fine. Temps went up to 73 degrees after half an hour then I stopped the test. Then I tried testing the PSU and after a few minutes Windows restarted itself with the "Your PC ran into a problem" screen. I wasn't sure about that my power supply could handle my PC as it is only 550W (full specs below).
Finally I ran a CPU stress test using Prime95. It went terrible. After about 10 seconds 2 cores failed (because the rounding was 0.5 and prime95 expected the rounding to be 0.4 or better). Temps went up crazy high after 50 seconds (about 60 degrees) and my PC restarted itself again with the "Your PC ran into a problem" screen.

Now I am not sure what is causing the problem, because i thought it was the PSU but then the GPU stress test should have faild too, right?
I guess it must be the cooling or the CPU itself then.

Although I'm not even sure if the stress test and the games fail because of the same problem, as the stress tests get the "your PC ran into a problem" screen, and with the games I only get a red screen with nothing on it. My GPU driver is up to date, and my PC works fine while doing basic stuff. (I am writing this post from it).
Any ideas what could be wrong?

My specs:
CPU: AMD FX 8350
Graphics card: Asus R9 270

MoBo: Asrock 990FX Extreme 3

PSU: FSP Raider 550

RAM: 6 GB DDR3 @ 1333 Mhz (one 4GB and one 2GB stick in dual channel setup)
HDD: Samsung 500 GB HDD
Case: Cooler Master elite 430

Cooling:
My cpu cooler is a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO with the stock fan. Other than that I have only the stock fan that come with the case installed at the front.
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit

Nothing is overclocked

Solution
Double check your CPU voltages, thats the main issue when dealing with overheating. If the CPUs clocks when up then one of the overclocking utilities on the mobo is probably screwing with your voltages aswell.
Since your temps went up to 60c in under a minute I'd say your first course of action (and cheapest) is to grab some thermal paste and try reapplying it. First time I installed a CPU cooler I had to redo it atleast 4 times to get the right amount.

Thanks for the quick answer, going to try that out soon. I will come back with the results in a few hours. Also do you think 550W is enough for these components to run roperly?

Your PSU should be fine.

73°C on the GPU is not a problem, without air con mine can reach nearly 80.
I think the CPU is the problem, you should really reapply thermal paste and remount the hyper 212, its actually quite capable.

Hi guys, I'm back with the results. I reapplied the thermal paste, got rid of the dust, redone the cable management. I started the Prime95 stress test again and... well it it went better then last time becouse it got to 60 degrees at around 2 and a half mins. Long story short, it turns out that my CPU is overcloked. It is overclocked to 4300 Mhz (instead of the stock 4000 Mhz). I guess that is cousing the extra heat. Now I'm going to play battlefield 4 for an hour or so, if that does not make my PC shut down in the middle of the summer, than it is stable enough for me.

You were right, now voltages is set back to default, and everything is working just fine. Thanks a lot!
