Should I get side panel fan for my case? If yes then please suggest a good one.

I'm facing heating problems, I have an aftermarket cooler (link), I tried changing thermal paste. I did many more things like disabling turbo core, bringing down VCore etc. See the complete thread here.

I noticed that if I keep case open then temp comes down to 5-10C. Some guy in that thread suggested me to get a sidepanel fan (he suggested Corsair Air Series 120mm, link). Will it help?

Case: Cooler Master: K281 (link)

If I should buy a side panel fan then kindly suggest me which one? What RPM should it have? Should it be for intake or exhaust?

Another thing I want to ask it that

My current CPU structure is : http://i.imgur.com/gZdzSk2.jpg

If you see the current structure, I think the fan is sending hot air to TOP panel, but in my case top panel can't be opened. See top panel pics (http://i.imgur.com/ynlMKOX.jpg and http://i.imgur.com/TkRILDA.jpg), do you have any idea how to open the top panel? I think that might drop some temps.

PS: You can check my system specs by hovering over my avatar.

More about : side panel fan case suggest good

Euhm.... who told you to place your cpu cooler like that? I think this is my first time ever seeing someone place it like that.
If I'm not mistaken, your case does not have top fans right? Which means all the hot air dissipated from the cpu gets thrown arround in the case making it a heater.

You should replace your cpu cooler so it pushes the air to the back fan making the case have a singular airflow, going from the front fans to the back.
After that, you could consider a side fan depending how the temperature goes after reseating your cpu cooler correctly.

Yes my case doesn't have fans at top panel. I know it should be facing the RAM slot but it doesn't fit that way, this is the only way the cooler fits on CPU.

well the side fans help for cooling the gpu.....the way u have mounted the cooler has no side effects on cooling the cpu but there would be an improper circulation of air in side the case ..

Why? Isn't the below case happening?

a top panel fan would really help in your case but unfortunately u dont have a space for it so a side intake fan will help in reducing the temps a bit...and for fans....

OK, I just checked this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH_Z-C6BKDs) and I see that it can be fit that way also, but I don't know how? I just used the clamp and it got fit that way (facing downwards). Otherwise it doesn't. Can you guide on this?

Which way? Facing downwards (current situation) or facing towards RAM?

sidewise like the video.....in that way the fan pushes the air through the heat sink and the hot air is sucked through the rear exhaust fan outside the case..

I don't know to fit it that way. Since I've AM3+ socket, I just used the clamped method to fit it, and it fits that way only. Could you please check the cooler here (link) and tell me can it be fit that way, if yes then how?

see if this video helps its for a Intel socket but still u will have an idea and its better u go through the installation manual of the cooler...

you shouldn't have to get a new fan, try applying new thermal paste to your cpu, that will most likely solve your problem since it's probably not the cooler.
just take your cooler off, wipe the old thermal paste of of your CPU and the base of the heatsync, and apply new paste, make sure it's spread out and the seal is tight.

this should fix your problem,

i hope that helps you

I already did that, no major changes I think.

In that case, getting a side panel fan would be one of your last options, make sure it's an intake fan, since you want cold air to go to your cpu fan.
i would get this one: http://www.amazon.com/quiet-SHADOW-WINGS-120mm-Mid-Spee...

if you can find the high speed one, get that instead since you're going to want as much cold air from the outside to go into your case.

I'm ordering this one (http://www.flipkart.com/cooler-master-jetflo-blue-120-m...). I have AsRock 990FX Extreme 4 motherboard, will it support?

OK, going to order the above jet flow fan, then will report back here with the results.
