i am building a computer for gaming.
i currently want to buy the MSI N750TI TF 2GD5/OC geforce gtx 750Ti as my graphics card.
what would be a good processor to go with this graphics card
personally, my choice would have been the Intel 3.4 GHz LGA 1150 i3 4130 4th Generation Processor

Here is a very good Intel Cpu and motherboard:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z87g45g...
If you can afford it though then get the i7-4770k or i7-4790k.

I wouldn't buy dualcore to begin with. Bottlenecks so easily.
And i5s/i7s cost a lot.
Usually the recommendation falls on AMD FX-6300 or similar. Good price and performance.
i7 is of no use in gaming, hyperthreading does little to nothing for games. i5 is adequate and best choice at the moment, if you can afford it.

i7's Are good for gaming, Maybe just not great value, Hyperthreading helps in games which are heavily threaded, Like Watchdogs or Arma3.
The Motherboard i linked is a great motherboard for the price and it supports sli And Crossfire.

+1 With what Mamasan2000 said, A dualcore will bottleneck easily, I would go with an Intel Core i5-4440 Processor and Msi z87-G45 Gaming Motherboard.
Intel Core i5-4440: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i54440

An i3 4xxx will easily outperform an FX 6300 in most titles. The hyperthreading and IPC improvements do help a lot with the i3's.
If you can though, grab an i5. No need for the Z series motherboard though, you'd be fine with a H97. The Z series motherboards are only necessary for SLI/Crossfire GPU setups or overclocking, neither of which seem to apply to you.
The i3 4130 would be a good choice. It seems you are on a budget, it's the one I'd pick too.

I really am on a budget. Can't go above 10,000 Indian rupees on the processor. going for a MSI Z87-G43 motherboard and a corsairs rm650 650 watts psu

You could get a cheaper motherboard, like an H97. There's no need for a Z motherboard without a K series CPU.

The Msi Z87-G45 Gaming is significantly better than the G43, And not much more moneyz. It's only better for its overclockability. Most mobos in the $100+ range (600 rupees). cost more for the ability to OC and better cooled when using an OC'd chip. MOBOs without OC. Some options like the H97, cost less and are the exact same in reliability, features and performance at CPU stock settings.
an i-3 will cause more bottlenecks than a 6300 because of the duo core.s The single core performance only makes them better in CPU intensive games like the ones cited in this thread. However, these type of CPU intensive games make up a small percentage of current Gen games.

So you're saying the i3 is a stronger CPU in CPU intensive games, but not in less CPU intensive games? That makes no sense.
The i3 is ahead in most every gaming benchmark.
OP that H97 is fine. I'd get the normal one rather than the M (Micro ATX) version, though.

i would suggest you to get an i5 2500k, or maybe the i5 3570k, they may be a bit older, but still do the job right, and they cost quite a bit less than the 4000 series. If you buy a used one, possibly. Generally intel don't drop their prices even for previous gens though.

Couldn't really recommend Sandy or Ivy Bridge considering the prices are so similar.

guys i found another m/o looks great to me.MSI H87M-G43 Motherboard
less costlier and good....
and also, can i buy them fragmented like a part each month or two or all at once....
you can buy parts fragmented, but keep in mind that if you don't have a complete system that works with the other components, you won't be able to use it.
it would be best to buy all the parts at once.

The only real difference between that and the H97M is that the H97M is newer and will support Broadwell CPU's when they release. If that upgrade path is important to you.
