Guys, I've been wondering about which GPU I should get, since I have an HIS HD 7770 and a Dual Core 2.6GhZ. I have decided to upgrade the processor first because if not so then my computer will bottle-neck which I don't want. However, moving on, I have been considering to get an HIS HD 7870, and intel core i5 as a CPU, since i7 is mostly used for photo-editing and all those other softwares. Now, before this, I've made alot of mistakes, like buying a super shitty GPU, and realizing I could've gotten a better one at the same price. I needed suggestions, is 7870 the GPU I should go for, or should I go for anything else? If 7870, then which version of it?

One more thing, I needed a motherboard for intel core i5, which would be the best cheap one? If it would have a 3-way SLI then it would be better, but 1 will do too, my budget for the motherboard is 50-100 bucks.

Thanks.

3 Way Sli is highly impractical as there isnt a significant performance increase over 2-way plus it requies a large psu and better cooling.
Sli is for nvidia cards and crossfire for amd cards.
What is your budget and what power supply do you have?

As for the motherboard i recommend Msi z87-G45 Gaming, It supports 2-way sli and 3-way Crossfire, It use's socket LGA1150 So it supports the latest i3, i5, and i7 cpus.

I can get a GPU upto $300. My PSU is 500W, which I do think I will have to upgrade. My total budget by the way is $500. I can go to $600.

EDIT: I really don't wanna take the risk of over-clocking btw.
