I have a question, when I open task manager (windows 8) and click on the Performance tab and click on CPU on the left, the speed of the CPU remains on 3.93 GHz and utilization is 1%.
why does the speed stay on 3.93 Ghz when I'm not even doing anything.

It is in high performance mode in Windows Control Panel/ hardware options/ power settings. Change it to balanced or lower power mode and it will drop down to 50% CPU (so it will idle around 1.9Ghz). You can change the % drop in the advanced power options tab once you select a power profile (i recommend balanced).

either that or power saving features are manually disabled in the BIOS and may need manual re enabling.
