Hello there, I'm in dire need of help. I do all sorts of things that require tons of GPU power, possibly run on high solutions and whatnot.
I don't know if I should SLI the 780 ti, get R9 295x2 (It's cheaper here than a GTX 780 Ti SLI) or just wait for the new cards to come out. (GTX 880 Coming out september-october or so I've heard, and AMD plan on releasing 295x, but don't know which specific date).

Any help appreciated.

Solution
Wait for the new cards, they're supposed to be more powerful by 20%, somewhat cheaper than their 700 series counterparts and THEN you sli :p they should come with 4gb of vram hopefully too as amd are doing it aswell

Yeah that was what I was thinking. SLI'ing the 800 series will be more powerful than 295x2 and cheaper!

Maybe, we don't know for sure yet but I'd say that as well. if you have the patience to wait it out, you will be rewarded :p

an i7-4790k will be enough to handle LoL/WoW at fair quality ye? I can stand out only playing these two games with the integrated GPU for a couple of months!

i7 4790k
MSI z97 gaming 5
Phanteks PH-TC14PE
samsung 840 evo 250gb
Cooler Master HAF X
Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Elite 2x8gb 1866mhz
Corsair RM1000 (For future-proofing, will run SLI)
WD Green WD30EZRX 3tb
Samsung SH-224DB

Is this a good build for years to come?

yeah, but mnaybe get a different psu, corsair don't make very good ones, either a seasonic, evga, or xfx will do :)

Thank you for your help. I think I can handle playing on the integrated GPU until the new maxwell GPUs are released! :)

Woah I just got offered an $800 r9 295x2. Should I get it and wait for the 900 series instead? This dilemma is real lmao

Brand new with receipt and warranty and everything.

I'd say go for it, not every day you get offered a card of this calibre for this cheap, I've just seen some benchmarks and the card gets 80fps on ultra 4k, whereas the r9 290x and 780 ti both only get 40-ish

I though corsair made some of the best power supplies?
