Hi,
I want to upgrade my Windows 7 to Windows 8. I currently have my OS on my 250GB SSD and all my apps and steam games on my 2TB HDD.

I want to upgrade but keep all my HDD games/apps. Is there anyway to do that without re installing everything? Would it be corrupted or anything because it's a new OS?
I remember having to wipe my HDD before when trying this because nothing worked, I had to reinstall everything, not sure if I done it right though?

sorry if it's worded badly haha!
thanks,
Rhys.

Solution
Sorry, but if you re-install/upgrade the OS, any program that you had to install will need to be re-installed. Anything that was just downloaded (to the secondary drive) is going to be fine.

Damn, thought so, my friend was clearly talking crap then haha!
So say I installed a fresh Windows 8 OS onto my SSD, and left the HDD with all my current data. Would I have to reinstall Steam AND all of my games or just Steam?
