So I just bought a new VG248QE Monitor to serve 2 purposes: Extend Monitor for Work Laptop & (Mostly) PS4 Destiny/FPS Gaming.
HAD to buy the monitor: $199 after tax when list price is typically $275, rarely goes below $240
Question about new HDMI Standards- I believe 1.4b and beyond supports monitor frequency of 120Hz, and most of the versions being sold on Amazon are version 2.0 (I think, they can't advertise that.) I've read tons of articles that HDMI is limited to 60Hz, but most are pretty old or possibly folks using older standard cables.
Stay with me here, I know PS4 has garbage hardware and can't deliver over 60fps so it shouldn't even matter whether HDMI delivers 60 or 120Hz. Still, just humor me- if I buy a new HDMI cable, will it allow the monitor to work in a 120Hz mode @ 120Hz?
Thanks.
