Hello, this is the first time I have posted an issue before on this website. I am not sure if this is the best catagory to have this question is but I thought it was good enough. If you think I should move it to a different category please tell me.

_______
Story

I finished building my computer a few days ago (Soecs below). It has been working awesome until two nights ago when it suddenly was unable to access the RAM. The application I was running (Planetside 2) suddenly closed right as I spawned in. I was unable to reopen the application, so I decided to restart the computer. I did not get a picture of the error message but I believe I got the same one in "Safe Mode with Networking" when I was going to uninstall my AV (Anti Virus) McAfee. Sources told me that my AV could be the issue, so thats why I tried to uninstall. I got a bunch of different BSOD's (Blue screen of death) but they were not all the same error.
The first one was: BAD_ROOT_HEADER
The second was: MEMORY_MANAGMENT

Doing some research I discovered that this had something to do with either by disk or the memory. I ran the memory diagnostics tool and BOTH passed with "No problems have been detected yet", however I was unable to get the report.

I also did a checkdisk and ran into an unspecified error (If you need the numbers of the error I will give them to you)
I ran into a third BSOD here: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I was super confused about what was the problem at this point, so I decided to start testing things. My ram is 2x4gb Corsair Vengence. I Took my computer to the surgery table (not carpet) and decided to take out the RAM in the B2 slot. My ram configuration was the same as recommended which was B1 and B2. I removed the 4gb from B2. And I booted my computer, IT WORKED. I got to my desktop and was super excited.

_______
Problem

At my desktop I have two issues, one I will post in a separate thread about me being unable to open any programs except ones that came with windows (Google Chrome being the odd exception, and Logmein Hamachi)

-I am connected to the internet, but I cannot access any web data.
-I can ping Google and its IP, but I cannot ping sites that I have not visited before.
-I have "Excellent" connection but get the error on Chrome of: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET
-Logmein Hamachi is connected and I see my friends online, I have uninstalled this in hopes that It was the thing interfering. It was not.
-I have tried various command prompt (cmd) commands such as flushDNS, deleted my networks profile in cmd, ipconfig release/renew, and netsh winsock reset catalog/netsh int ip reset.log.
-Every other device in my home can connect
-My connection is wireless and is not "Limited" because I see no yellow alert symbol
-My DNS server IP is correct.

My Hypothesis: uninstalling McAfee (which did not complete, my RAM failed [The one that is removed now] thus crashing my computer) caused a problem like it has for many people that has hurt my ability to connect to the internet in some way.

Please Help! Thanks!

Solution
If possible, yes. Look out for any folder that has relation with McAfee and delete it.
However, if the problems persist you may have to consider formatting the drive and reinstalling the OS.

Thanks! I will try this, but how do you suggest I get out the remnants of McAfee? How do I know what remains?

Edit: I found it in safe mode but when i click "Uninstall/Change" nothing happens. Should I delete the McAfee folder and the McAfee.com folder in Program Files (x86)

Okay, I will re install OS on Wednesday.
I am ordering an external harddrive to save all my games and files so I dont need to redownload them all.
Are you sure this will fix the problem?

Once you format the drive and reinstall the OS, any trace of McAfee will be gone and with that the internet issues should be over.

Thank you for all your help! but how do I format the drive?

In the installation menu of the OS you have to select the target drive for the installation, in that menu it gives you the possibility to create partitions and format the drives/partitions. Just click on the drive and select format, it will prompt you that there are windows files in that location, just accept and format. Then install the OS in the newly formatted drive. This is to ensure that nothing is overwritten and that no files from the previous OS and software remains.

You have saved me! I had to format the drive and reinstall OS, but the computer now opens files and connects to internet!

Having to format and reinstall always sucks, but is one of the safest ways to get rid of software issues. I am glad everything went well :D
