Hello,

i have a very big problem about my crashing GPU. its a GeForce GTX 770 from Asus.
my computer keeps crashing.. i dont know iff its my GPU or CPU...or maybe something else.
mostly i crash when i am gaming and i press alt+tab to respond something on skype or something.
also when i am playing a game, and i come in the lobby and press on settings or so...i crash.
even when i am done gaming and i close them game and i open my brower i crash...well not allways but there is some chance that i will. it crashes not that much iff i am actually gaming.

here are the specs of my computer:

GeForce GTX 770
Asus z87-k motherboard
Intel 4770 quadcore Haswell
PSU CX750M
8gb from kingston.

when i game my temerature is around the 70°C so i dont think its overheating.
my CPU cores are around the 40-45°C when im gaming so that isnt the problem either.

i was thinking that my settings from GPU are wrong.

here is a picture of my setting in ASUS GPU tweaker.
http://gyazo.com/0888c4edb42204240a0bcfa9c44fdc6d

i also tried to lower the power target to 53%, so my Temp target would be 60°C.
but no succes. i litteraly crashed 30mins ago with these settings. on PayDay2 when i was in lobby and pressed in inventory to change my weapon kit...

and also i have the right and newest drivers for all my components.

iff u need anymore info please ask me. i really want this to get fixed

Im going to point my finger at the PSU for now. Only because i watched two CX 750M's fail in a week (the original and the RMA both failed) to which Corsair finally gave up and sent us an AX760 (a MUCH better unit than the CX 750). Sounds like something that only happens when both the CPU ANNDDD GPU are under load, therefore could be a PSU issue not supplying proper voltages under load.

While i think its PSU, RAM is often a problem causer too. Test the sticks (one at a time) with MemTest86.

now this sounds more like a GPU issue, which is still just as often caused by a PSU that cant deliver. CX line of Corsairs is made by Channel Well. They use cheap Chinese capacitors that dont always preform as they should. OR the GPU could simply be faulty?...

Both of my CX750 units lasted under a week before the RMA's that eventually landed me an AX760 (made by flextronics, very good build quality, comparable to seasonic and delta)

i think the PSU is under supplying the GPU when the CPU kicks in. basically i think theyre fighting for power from the PSU, and eventually it just shuts off when both are in high demand. That's the best i can guess from the info here.

Download HWInfo and run Sensors. Post the results - usually 3 screenshots in TinyPic or similar.

What case? What OS? 2 x 4gb 1600 ram?

Use Control Panel, Device Manager to check whether your card is working properly and the drivers are up to date. Plus all the other devices.

Have you made any changes to your PC lately?

ok, all of these screenshots are from ingame rust on highest settings.

normally my temps is alot higher. around 70°C but i only played for 10 mins or so.

My case is Cooler Master Elite 310:

OS Windows 8.1 64-bit

all my drivers are installed right. except one thing SM-buscontroller has a mark but i dont know what it is.
language is in dutch, but here is a screenshot from Device Manager

and yes i have changed my PSU from a CX500M to a CX750M like a week ago.

iff u need more info please ask me.

Thanks

SM Bus Controller is fixed.

does this mean that the crashing is fixed or?

but one thing is weird. i had to install a chipset driver for the motherboard. but i have AI Suite III from Asus. isnt it supposed to install all the drivers for my motherboard?

PSU is OK
GPU is OK
8GB ram

CPU is running hot 51C while Vcore is OK 0.85-1.087V. So your cpu cooler isn't working as well as it should.
CPU should be be 35C max at idle and 50C max gaming.

Blow your case out to get rid of dust build up - especially fans, filters and coolers.

If that doesn't get your cpu temps down, then you'll need to re-seat the cooler - put on new thermal paste.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to get a better cpu cooler.

well i cleaned my case and fans out with air compressors like a week ago when i installed my new PSU. but i dont mind to buy a new one.
but will my PSU take care of all these voltages? probably would i think.

anyway thanks alot for quick respondation and for help of course.

i just ordered the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO allready
