Failure update and accidental shut down

My dell laptop not working properly past few days den in de morning i turn on de computer and i turn off the computer it automatically started updating windows . 4 hours of regular update and with a message "failureconfiguring windows " .i m regretting right now as affter turning off ..i turned on ..nothing is showing up ...just blank screen ...plaese help me ..what should i do now . Can i recover my windows i have very important data in it..helpp

Hello,

Disconnect the AC adapter from laptop and also disconnect it from mains. Take out the battery, wait a few minutes, reconnect the AC adapter and see if it works. If not, change the AC adapter. If it works, turn off the laptop, disconnect the AC adapter, put back the battery, reconnect the AC adapter and turn the laptop on. If it's not working, change the battery.
