Can the temp of a cpu go over the stress test while playing ?

The question asks all... My friend temps are 53# in full load using prime95, then playing bf4 drop to 63 (i think hwmonitor sucks )

So the real temperature in Gaming should be less than 60° ?

If I had to guess, I would say that his Prime95 temp is the one that's off. 53C at full load in Prime95 is either a low-speed chip, a really good CPU cooler, or an incorrect temp. I could make a better guess if I knew what his build details are, particularly what CPU and CPU cooler he's using, whether he's overclocking or not, and if he is OCing what his OC values are.

Asus m5a99x evo r2.0
fx 8320 + Hyper t4
Idle 33 full load 55 :)

If the case doesn't have phenomenal airflow then a game can easily increase the CPU temp over what was seen in Prime95, not due to increased CPU loading, but due to increased heat production within the case. Remember the GPU has to dump its heat somewhere and if you can't get that heat out of the case quick enough you will raise the ambient temperature within the case which will raise the temperature of everything else since heatsinks work off of a difference in temperature.

I said him to use Core Temp anyway... now i wait :)
The case is Cooler Master k380.
