Build new system? or upgrade current?

So i currently have:

a 3 year old Asus mobo (can't see model number on it) but was top of the line when I got it.

i7 960 3.2Ghz quad core

24GB ram

2 2TB Samsung F3 drives (which have worked really well)

AMD radeon 5870 1gb gpu

corsair 850 watt power supply.

I'm trying to figure out: Should I build a new system? or just add a new gpu to my current rig. I was thinking of either 770's in SLI or a a 780ti

Would either of those options work? or would I have a bottleneck somewhere else in my current rig?

Background: I do a lot of gaming, most of it is handled with ease on my current rig. BUT I recently ordered the Oculus Rift, and I want to be able to play Star Citizen and other newer games at full. (or damn near full)

I also do a fair amount of video editing.

I have 2 27" LG screens that I want to run, and it'd be nice to have the option of a 3rd screen/Oculus which is driven by HDMI.

Thanks!

Solution
Since the i7 960 is still a very fast CPU, one of the fastest ones, you should not experience any bottlenecking with 770 SLI or a single 780 Ti.

I would recommend you to go with a 780Ti to avoid SLI frequent issues and have Titan performance in gaming.

SLI 680's? not even 770's?
