I would honestly take the 780.
Sure the 7990 offers greater in game performance, but the thermals and scaling is horrible on the card. It is loud, has horrible coil whine, very poor performance scaling, is only a single 7970 in games that dont support Xfire, not to mention micro stuttering that never was resolved for the dual GPU card.

What is your budget and system specs? The 7990 is a card that has no purpose other than saying you own one. Plus it has been replaced too.

go with gtx 780 or r9 290 what ever u like they are both very good cards r9 290 is very good at high resolution because of the extra vram but its hotter and louder as compared to the gtx 780 but gtx 780 is also more expensive than the r9 290...i am comparing the gtx 780 with r9 290 because they are the real competitors.

You must be mad... Of course take 7990 lol... How is this even up for a dispute?

I had 6990 and I can easily say it was the best card I owned EVER. 7990 should be even better.

7990 will beat any single GPU card in the next 2 years to come, while 780 is already pretty meh really if you want performance.

Sure my 6990 was hot and noisy, but I could crank up any game at Ultra for 3 solid years and that would be another year if I would not rush to buy 290X like a moron (it's like 25% faster than my 6990 at best, the card 2 generations below from 2011! This is just to show you how powerful 7990 would be)

Yup.. So it really comes down to the rest of your setup.. Airflow/cooling.. If you have a good airflow or cooling solution I would go for the 7990.. It's just raw power.. maybe not a very sofisticated card but it is a beast in xfire games.

If you have a matx case or something I wouldn't go for the 7990 though.

Mate, must get HD 7990. I have one and can play anything at full specs. I play Crysis 3 in 4K with high settings and get 40 -55 fps. But I must admit the card is very noisy, that is why i got liquid cooling and is the best card I ever had. Have no problems at all with games.
