Hello all!

With all the hype circulating around the GTX 880 regarding its price, specs, and most importantly; performance!

According to a couple of sources, the card is slated for a "September" release.

As well as the rumored release date; specs, performance, and price points have been noted.

Specifications: The GTX 880 is rumored to be on a 256 bit memory bus, a couple of notches down from its GTX 780 predecessor which had 384 bit memory bus.
The GTX 880 will also be sporting 4 GBs of GDDR5.

Performance: With the rumor mill grinding away, it is speculated the the GTX 880 will perform faster (possibly more efficiently) than the GTX 780 and possibly the GTX 780 ti.

Price: Rumor has it that the price points have been slated at between $400 and $500. If this is true; the card will also be significantly cheaper than the GTX 780 ti and the GTX 780.

My thoughts: It worries me with a 256 bit memory bus that 1440p (1600p), and 4k resolutions could be at a damper with this card. However; a bump up from 3 GBs to 4 GBs GDDR5 is nice to see. The price point seems a bit too far fetched for me; especially with bold statements that the GTX 880 could sit atop the GTX 780 ti (a $650 - $700 card) in performance.

Rumors are rumors; take this as you will, and please, take these rumors with a grain of salt. Until Nvidia themselves come out with a statement about the GTX 880, there is absolutely no validity to these articles, only speculation.

Post your thoughts!!

These are all just rumors. I personally doubt that it will use 256 bit RAM interface, more likely 512 bit like 290(x)s. Performance? Yes, next generation cards usually perform better than the previous generation ones.
