The Intel Core i3-540 will work perfectly with a GTX 560Ti without any problems. If you don't mind some suggestions, you can take a GTX 650Ti instead as it won't bottleneck an i3 processor. ;)

go with the 560 ti, you will not have problems in any game with that. You'll enjoy some nice eye candy with that setup, don't expect max settings on all games but they will look good.

Also what is the max gpu I could take? Also I have gone with the 560ti as it had around double the passmark score. Any cheap other hardware upgrades?
