Hey guys
First post on here, so please go easy on me Haha! I would like your opinions and advice on this build for my mom, she simple needs a reliable, better than average pc for word processing, Internet browsing, and emails. I want to build her one, and I am allowed around 500$. I have done lots of research, and have been in the loop on pc components, but still want some advice. Here is the link to my two builds I am considering. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!!

These builds are around the price I want, I figured she doesn't need a graphics card, other than the built in hd graphics. Again thanks in advance!

Hi. I have slightly improved your first build and made it slightly cheaper but she might as well just buy a pre-built one for any cheaper. Here it is:

The CPU is better than the i3 you chose but takes up more power, but still the 430W will be easily enough.
I have also changed the motherboard to a cheaper but as good ASRock,
1TB Seagate HDD,
8GB RAM just in case,
and downgraded the case, which won't make a difference unless she likes the ThermalTake more (the Corsair also has better fans).

Hope I helped!

Wow! thanks for the instant answer! thank you for the suggestions, i have a concern about the motherboard, is the asrock as good as the asus one?

IMHO pentium g2030 or g2358 will be more Sufficient based on what she needs
and for mobo pick gigabyte, asus or MSI . for RAM actually 4gb is enough , for psu get a better psu from tier 2(a or b). http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

im very sure she will not needing an overclocked pc
better to spend on psu because all your components depends on it

im sorry SachMcFunny im not trying to shit on your goods
this is just my opinion

i have a g2030, 4Gb of ram and dont have a gpu
i can play
Battlefield 2
DOta 2
Octodad
Warcraft
starcraft
without GPU

for my freelancing work i can edit picures, digital paint ,graphic design and some digital art stuff ,i use adobe photoshop ,illustrator and even minimal 3d on blender
for the most important for me i can do all microsoft office stuff for my accounting job without any trouble

that was last year

okay thanks, ill look into that. I want a good mobo, and also one that is easy to install because this is my first build. Also thanks for the psu comment, i was kinda going too cheap! thanks, ill post the updates list when i change those things. acutally, now that ive looked, i think i want to give her something a bit more than the pentiums, something with 4 cores +, so i think ill stick to the 6300 from AMD

I have considered what you said, and stayed with the AMD processor, i put in a nicer power source, and it is non-modular which doesn't bother me too much...if i buy a fully modular, how do i obtain the rights cables? I also changed the tower for a cheaper one, as she doesn't care at all about its appearance. Finally, i reduced the ram to 4 gb, as 8 gb was just huge overkill...Any thoughts?

ok ill not contradict your choosen proc, but what im saying is she doesnt need a more core. that is for multitasking and i dont imagine her surfing, watching movie, gaming and microsfoftoffice stuff at ONCE. what she need is a powerful core. so it can provide good proccesing for a single or few task
