Hello,

The WD Black is the best option, but it is indeed expensive. The next solution is Seagate SSHD. The best: go for WD Green and an 64GB or 128GB SSD. It would be nice if WD had the WD BLUE in 2 TB capacity...

The WD RED...

green for waste management /also if you are a hippie, because environment and stuff/, barracuda if you want to put some games on it /as it is faster/.
as for the failures - every disk bites the dust, so don't worry and backup your files from time to time :D

WD black is way too expensive. almost double the price.
i wouldn't use the drive as a boot drive as i have an 120gb SSD for that.
so i would use the drive only for storing data like movies, games, music, etc.
i might even install games on it.
i dont know much about WD red drives. is it a desktop hard drive?

The WD RED has the same Intellipower system as WD Green, so it is not very good as a boot drive (it is conceived for use in NAS systems though, so it should be a little more reliable in harsh conditions as high temperatures and vibrations).
