Best for playing games

Which is best for playing games online - an internal or external hard drive. With my present set up I have trouble with the flash drive plugin crashing and also the slow speed when using the mouse. Would an external hard drive help this problem? My internal drive is 103 GB with 56.0 free space. I am a novice when it comes to hardware and don't really understand why I have problems playing games. Thank you.

Also external hard drives are not very good for installing games onto, And terrible for installing your OS.
I dont think its a hard drive problem but a large higher performing hard drive would help, It is most likely your cpu.

Edit: Although eSata Hdd's are reasonably fast.
