When I try to hover over a drop down box the mouse pointer will not usually go to the exact line (usually the one above) but still does actually select the correct letter or number, It is slightly annoying and I would like to correct this if possible. Any ideas please?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver - when ever my mouses get wacky that always works for me.
if you still have the cd software that's even better - if not got to mouse manufacturer website (Logitech?) and make sure you have the latest updated driver. There's always a page that will help you select the correct model - once you match it you will be able to get the latest driver

i dont know what browser u are using but if its chrome then do as follows:
1. Right click on the Chrome icon, go to Properties, then go to Compatibility, and check "disable Visual Themes". Close ALL Chrome windows and start a new one and it should then work.
2. The latest beta version of Chrome also has this fixed (though still no proper scroll bars with buttons). You can find the beta version here:
