PC on Carpet?

Currently I have my PC on top of my desk, which is made of hard wood. My PC takes up a lot of space and there is room underneath my desk to put it, however, I am hesitant to put my PC underneath my desk due to carpet.
Will I be able to put my PC, on carpet, with exhaust on the bottom? With intake on the bottom? I am not sure if I have intake or exhaust on the bottom of my PC, but I would appreciate an answer for both.
I was thinking that if I put a card board surface underneath my PC, on carpet, the intake/exhaust not get choked or broken or any other problem.

Also, sorry if this is in the wrong category, not very familiar with this forum but I saw another PC on Carpet thread in this category

PC on carpet would be fine. As long as it's not clogging the (should be intake) on the bottom. Just set it down and see if there is any clearance. Also may I suggest doing a good vacuuming on the site where it will be

Don't put it on carpet. The pc will suck in dust like a veritable vacuum cleaner. Not to mention static electricity. Elevate it on a platform of some sort.

years and years there's going to be dust regardless of where it is. Static would be a worry if your taking it apart or putting it together. Just clean the thing out as you should where ever it is. My other computer has NEVER failed because of carpet. lol

Are you trying to say the floor has less dust and debris than on a desk? If so you are clueless.

Putting a computer on a carpet when you have a choice not to is just dumb. Advising someone to do it is even dumber.

Geez. I bet this guys wears an anti static wrist band too......Like I said Never had a failure. I wasn't advising either. Of course the desk is best. A plastic bubble would be best with air filters. That would be best. How bout an operating room or a microchip factory. Yeah that would be best.

I've kept my various PC's on carpeted floor for over 20 years. Never had any issues.

Just find a small piece of wood or tile to put it on. Carpet may or may not inhibit the airflow coming in.

Yeah If it's that 70's Shag rug then stick a piece of wood the width/length of PC down. A computer on a rug is not the end of days and it won't do anything as long as you keep it clean.
