I am looking at building a custom gaming rig. This will be my first build and I have about £900 ($1500) to play with.

All I am really looking for is a rig that can play the latest games on high/ultra at 60+ FPS. It will only be used for Gaming/Browsing.

This is what I have so far, it is based on an online system configurator as I don't really know what's good and what's bad so any feedback is much appreciated:

Solution
You could save alot of money by going for the r9 280 (non x) instead as it cost roughly £160-170 and you wont see much performance loss at all and perhaps use the money you save on an i5-4690k.

Just a suggestion.

also i don't recommend overclockers, they should be called 'overpricers' and bad customer service.

very good components, good quality and reliability. Go with a WD blue, green or black hdd as seagate hdd:s get kind of loud and arent very reliable, go with the MSI or XFX R9 280x THE GIGABYTE R9 280X WINDFORCE GETS VERY, VERY LOUD!

I would not go for MSI as they have coil whine, and I hate that noise.

I have tweaked my build a little bit. Changed the CPU for an i5 4690k, reduced the power supply down to 750w and changed the hard drive to a WD Black series.

What motherboard should I be looking at for this kind of PC? Also, what sort of CPU cooling should I get?

Thanks!

Great build for the price. Go ahead and get a Hyper 212 EVO if you would like.
