CPU: i5 4690k (£169) or i7 4790k (£236)
GPU: 780ti evga(£496) or msi(499) or asus(499) or gigabyte wf (
PSU: 750W or 650W
Semi or Full
Evga Supernova or XFX proseries or Corsair RM
HDD: Seagate Barracuda or WD caviar blue/caviar black
SSD: 60gb or 120
RAM: 1600mhz or 1866 or 2133
These are the parts that im not sure about. I game at 1080p, edit music and videos. I want to overclock both the gpu and cpu. My budget allows me to get any of those parts.
Whats the best solution for me? Go all the way or somewhere in the middle?

Solution

Yeah then the superclocked will be fine, the only reason i didn't suggest it was because I thought the price was too high, but the card has a good cooler, high base clock and great customer care, the superclocked acx will be great and max out any games 80fps on 1080p
Don't go Corsair RM for the PSU. The Evga and XFX are MUCH better.

RAM speed will not really make any noticeable difference.

HDD again doesn't matter too much. Get what is cheap.

ONLY 120gb for the SSD.

Get the cheapest 780ti, but for single 1080p monitor, get a 780, not a TI.

If you only edit for like youtube and not professionally an i5 will be perfectly fine

go for the i7, since you will be rendering vids etc, the extra cores help alot with that process. Get the galaxy hof edition? I'm guessing you live in the uk so http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-054-KF or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-035-IN will do just as fine, though a 780 ti is overkill for 1080p gaming, it';s your choice. Ram speeds, you won't notice it in the real world, only in benchmarks do you see a difference really. ssd would be better to have 120gb as you will want to store some games, os, photoshop, etc and they will fill up quite fast so a 120gb is a safer bet and go for seasgate barracuda :) and the xfx psu would be better as they are very repsected in the psu industry

CPU: Get the 4690k, the 4790k costs much more and has very little benefit in gaming.
GPU: A lot of people seem to like the MSI Twin Frozr the best since it's cheap compared to the others and OCs well with dual fans.
PSU: 750 watt, if you plan on upgrading to SLI in the future, get a 1000+ watt. Also the XFX Pro series is made by Seasonic so it's probably the most reliable/reputable option.
HDD: Seagate benchmarks are better than WD caviar. The WD caviar's aren't really build for performance.
SSD: Depends what it's being used for. The 120GB is the better option. You get the lowest price/gb in the 250-258gb drives.
RAM: It's proven that RAM speed is barely noticed unless using an APU so get the cheapest speed.

780ti might be overkill for 1080p but im thinking about buying 1440p monitor later this year. Yes i will be editing for youtube but the other reason im thinking about an i7 is dayz standalone. The game is cpu intensive and ive read somewhere that i7 gives some advantages on cpu heavy games. What do you think?

Ps. Which 780ti is reliable and overclocks well? I dont care that much about noise.

Then a 780 ti would be a good investment :) Or you can wait for the 800 series but your choice :) bf4 multiplayer is quite cpu intensive, but nothing a i5 can't handle, gaming performance mainly comes down to your gpu, but if you don't plan on rendering vids very frequently, more like a hobby then a i5 would be better, unless you stream gameplay.
Depends on your budget, give me a price and I'll suggest some to you

Ive heard about 870 and 880 coming out in october/novermber, but would they offer better performance that 780ti? Im still pretty open and undecided between i5-i7. But yes i will be streaming videos, and i plan on rendering a bit but not very often. My budget is £1000-£1100 but all i need is cpu, gpu, psu, cooling, ram, bluray optical drive, hdd and ssd.

Yes, they will, maybe a i7 would be the way to go for you then.. since streaming doesn't require gpu power as much as cpu power.

The thing is, i wait for october/november and somebody will tell me: wait for january the 880ti will come out, so i wait. Then in january someone will say, wait for 900series they are coming out in june/july. So i just want to get the best product available at the moment. I hope when you spend £500 for gpu it will manage any game and any upcoming game on highest settings.

This is what im looking at right now. Would you give it a go or change some bits?

You won't be able to get a 880 for 500pounds I'd say, not sure yet but a galaxy hof 780 ti will do the trick nicely, all games can be maxed out on 1080p 80fps ish and it's 499.99 pounds. You don't have a motherboard btw, the psu is overkill, a good 600 or 650W will be fine

Ive got the motherboard already. These are the parts that i still need, ive got the rest. Is 780ti galaxy a good choice? Base clock at 1085mhz and boost at 1150mhz, plus liquid cooling. But is it as good and reliable as asus or evga?

yeah, it was one of the best at the early stages of the 780 ti, it's reliable and it's not like only asus and evga have warranty :p

I cant get galaxy hof unless its ebay its over 600 there. I can get evga and asus for just under 500. I have no idea what KFA2 780ti is. I only went for 750w psu becuase its 4pounds more expensive than 650 so why not.

Yeah, they're a european company, but I like the way their cards look, that's why I'm going to buy their 780 ti, yeah the asus DC II is good, the gigabyte has some stability problems so maybe stay clear from the ghz edition, and the evga acx cards are quite good, but no evga cards are less than 500 pounds, the asus dc ii is just 500 pounds exact

Ive got evga superclocked acx on ebuyer for 496. I like the looks of galaxy and kfa2 (both for 499.99) but i have to read more about them. The thing is i want to buy the card today.

Yeah then the superclocked will be fine, the only reason i didn't suggest it was because I thought the price was too high, but the card has a good cooler, high base clock and great customer care, the superclocked acx will be great and max out any games 80fps on 1080p
