Hi, I have a Dell XPS 8700. It has no upgrades. I recently bought Skyrim on steam, Ive watched videos of people playing it on the same PC, and they seem to get amazing graphics and fps. But when I play my FPS is terrible and my graphics suck. Any help is appreciated! :)

Can you list full specs, settings, and fps?
What are they running at?

Almost all videos are BS, and dont get near what FPS they say, or dont run the specs they say.

That is the key factor. That is a very very weak graphics card compared to the system.
That card is ~20% the performance of a 760, which runs skyrim on ultra.

So what can I do?

It's sad that you paid 900 for that machine..

You can either lower the settings, or invest in a new graphics card and likely power supply.

So what would you recommend for me to do? Like can you walk me through the steps ?

Give yourself a budget, and look at graphics cards in that price range, there are plenty of tutorials to replace the card itself.

Yeah, but what would you suggest for a good card? I would be willing to pay up to 350$ for one.

The problem is:
You are limited by the room inside the case, good GPUs are big.
The power output of the power supply unit in that PC, OEM computer's PSU are built to met the requirements of the components it is made for, not more and Good GPUs make use of vast amounts of watts to work.

As long as they fit in the case, which you can measure to be sure, you wont need anything else.
Once you upgrade to this you will have a much better, and well rounded system, can run skyrim on ultra easily.

You just need to spend 20-50 bucks on a case that will fit it.
Based on other users with the same system, the 770 SHOULD fit.

However, OEM motherboards may or may not use the standard mounting holes. That motherboard of that Dell is a uATX that is almost the same size of a mATX, so a Micro-ATX tower is more than enough.
