I am going to buy a new CPU and I've never overclocked a CPU before

the I5 4690k isn't available in my country, so the questions is

Is the overclocking that important?
Wich one should I buy?

You don't need to OC that processor at all. It's a very good processor that can perform excellent at stock speeds. You can go for i5-4690, just not OCable.

overclocking is more of a fun thing than a need, so i5 4690 will be fine for you.

Sorry but I have a I5 3470
Does it deserve an upgrade to 4690?

no, 3rd gen to 4th gen is a complete waste of money.

BTW... You can actually overclock i5 3470 with the turbo multiplier +400mhz. Only works in sandy and ivy though.

IMHO
for i3,i5 & i7 sandy bridge is better than Ivy bridge
but when it comes on celeron seires, pentium g/I-IV and quadcores Ivy bridge is better than sandy bridge
and Nehalem (1st gen) is a ridiculously failure.

all i want on 3rd gen is their IGP

TechyInAZ is right its mjust a waste of a money
and i didnt know you can OC an I5 3rd gen (Thanks)
