Can I hook my msi 770 4gb gpu with a PCI-E, which has 2 6+2 pin on one end and an 8 pin on the other.
Cable looks like this:

I have my gpu hooked up with the 2 6+2 pin end only (14 pins total).
GPU hookup looks like this:

Is this a safe setup or should i use two PCI-E cables?
Power supply: Corsair CX750m
graphics card: MSI 770 4gb

Just take the 8 pin and 6 pin PCI-E power cable, connect them to the power supply if they aren't, and just plug them to the graphics card power slot.So the way I have the gpu side hooked up (2 x 6+2 splitter end like left side of image below) is ok, or should I use another cable and not use the splitter?

Thank for the quick reply

all the slots should be filled for a good supply of power. If you could you replace that power supply its isnt the best and someone i helped with a problem said theirs burned out in like 2 months. So the image below (using the 2 6+2 pin splitter end) hooked to the gpu and the 8 pin being hooked to the power supply will work?

NOTE: this is one cable. I do have two of these cables and could plug another (8 pin end) to power supply and the 6+2 end to the gpu and leave the extra 6+2 that is split, alone.
Also thanks for the heads up, I really wanted to get another power supply but just didnt have much cash left after buying everthing else. I am planning on getting a better one in the future. I am not overclocking so hopefully this power supply last for a little while.
