I currently run a custom setup,

AMD FX 4100 Quad-Core Processor 3.60GHZ
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
Graphics card nVidia Geforce GT 630 ( I know! I need an upgrade! but that's not why i'm here ).
Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate.

Anyway, I was playing WoW on my normal settings that I have used for the 2 years or so I have had this PC and suddenly it turns off. I checked everything from loose wires to dust ( even though i clean it regularly ) to even the fuse.

I spoke to someone and they asked about my PSU and its a 750W 22AMP and the card I was using used 20AMPS apparently, leaving my PSU at maximum, constantly. And admittadly it would get warm but the little screen on my case would say nothing over 40 degrees which I thought was fine, maybe I was wrong. I then bought a 30AMP PSU recommended by the people who put my PC together.

So I attempted several times to boot the PC, sometimes even reaching the desktop then it would die again.

So along came trial and error, taking pieces out to see what else had fried. As i took the graphics card out and booted up, it worked. Hooray! .... oh pants, that means I need a new graphics card. Oh well.

Anyway, so I even looked at the standard graphics on the PC, an ATI Radeon 3 series. I was curious about it running games, 50 FPS on the low settings, I can live with that temporarily.

So I carry on my normal life, few weeks later and it turns off again, suddenly and now I am stumped. I wasn't even playing a game, I was watching twitch.

The PC isn't even warm with no graphics card inside. I'm using the PC now but I am waiting for what feels to be the inevitable.

I get the impression I may just have to purchase a new PC but if I can avoid that I will.

Any idea about any actions I can take in order to somewhat narrow down my issue?

TL;DR...My PC over heated and blew. I took out the graphics card and it worked for a number of weeks, and now its suddenly turned off again for no reason.

Thanks.

Sounds like you could have a failing motherboard, if it's not the power supply, then the motherboard is having trouble delivering power to the right components. The cheaper option would be to try another PSU and see if it keeps doing the problem, but if it does, it sounds like your motherboard is going out.
