My Ps3 does not recognize my WD elements 1.5TB external hard drive. The HDD has a power supply that plugs into the wall. Other Usb drives work fine on the PS3. Please help.

Solution
Its probably formatted in NTFS, which the PS3 cant read, it needs to be FAT32.
I suggest copying whatever you need to a USB stick and plugging that in, having a 1.5TB drive formatted in FAT32 is going to waste a lot of storage, and the formatting process will also wipe whatever is on it.

If you have space on the drive you can always create a fat32 partition. I have an older 1TB drive partitoned with a 700GB NTFS partition and a 300GB FAT32 partition. This way I can use the larger partiton for windows stuff and 300GB for PS3 data. Of course, the 700GB NTFS partition is invisible to the PS3 as should be.

you're going to have to format your drive, then make sure you format it to FAT32, this is the format the ps3 uses.
when you've formatted it and plugged it in to your ps3, it should work.
