is Windows 8 worth buying?

Solution
It's a new interface, and if you have a touch screen, it's really well optimized for that experience. I find the customization options for the start menu serve my needs really well, so I like it. On the other hand, if you are really familiar with 7, there's not a lot of compelling reasons to upgrade at the moment, especially with windows 9 coming in the next year-ish.

What are you upgrading from?

Personally, I like it. I did find that it ran slightly faster over Windows 7.
It's easy to ignore a lot of the odd GUI bits if you don't want to use them.

My answer... Yes. (Flame On!)
