Ill give you the full story because im afraid that I just killed my graphics card or motherboard. After installing new fans, I later realized that I didn't hook them up to the motherboard but rather the PSU. my fans are PWM so I wanted to be able to change fan speed, so I went back in and hooked them all up. My graphics card was in the way so I removed it and placed it on my hard drive bay chassis, fans down. After installing it I noticed a slight buzzing sound when I started a test run. I thought maybe it was because of my changing the fan connectors so I again removed the graphics card in the same way and reversed my work, and started it up again. I realized that the buzzing sound was always present, but the lower fan speeds made it noticeable. So I again removed the graphics card and put the fan connectors back into the motherboard. I try to turn it on. Nothing happens. Monitor screen stays black. I investigate, and I see that one of my gpu fans aren't running. A fan connector was in the way. I push it out of the way. I try to turn my PC on again. Nothing happens. I look again and I see that my fans that i connected to the motherboard aren't running. My gpu fans are. My cpu cooler fans are. When my fans are connected to the PSU, they run. Im at a loss. Did I perhaps rush, and shorted out my gpu/motherboard with static electricity? But then why are my gpu/cpu fans running? Does that not rely on the motherboard, but the PSU?

Here's my build:

i7 4770k
Kraken x61
Twin Frozr 2 GB GTX 770
Z97-A Asus MOBO
NZXT H440 Case
Samsung 500Gb 840 evo SSD
1000W Halev2 Series NZXT PSU

Solution
Hold on, your were doing this with your PC on the whole time, if so you most likely have damaged your mobo. If you work on your PC, power down and unplug your power cable from your power supply, just to be safe.

I've looked at all the cables to make sure none of them are disconnected. I tried to use on board graphics instead but I still don't get POST. I really don't understand how I'd damage my motherboard, I hardly even touched it! God this is frustrating.

Nope. Standoffs are all secured with screws. Mmmmmmmm. I had my PSU power on the whole time. Also probably had a wire hugging the back of the motherboard a few times. Probably shorted it out that way. Since onboard doesn't even work, motherboard is probably a goner, huh? :( only had it for a few weeks too.

Not sure. Call the company you bought it from and see if they will give you RMA. You will need to put the black plastic cover back onto the CPU socket for the return. If they wont, then you will have to replace the board at your expense.
