"League of Legends" game specifies "GeForce 8800 or equivalent video card" to play the game. Can anyone recommend an equivalent card or better as I don't seem to be able to find a GeForce 8800. I don't want to pay a huge amount as will need to upgrade the computer too. Thanks for your help.

The GTX8800 is an old card and pretty low performance by todays standards (though at the time it was the uncontested champion for two years straight), pretty much any graphics card worth more than say $100 retail will far outperform an 8800 and be plenty for LoL.

Hold on! Hold on! I'll stop you riiiiiightt there.

I used to play league on a mobility radeon x300 30-40fps on low settings,

and with my current geforce 8600gt i play high settings 50-60 fps.

League system requirements are quite innacurate i must say.

On-topic: I don't really know which gpu's are on the markot now-a-days, but
if you can find an r7 250x it should play league of legends maxed out 60-80fps. Other possibility is to get a radeon hd 7750 (70-80$ on newegg), you'll even run the newest games (low-high though, not ultra)

3rd and probably best possobility if you're on a budget (as bradsctt pointed out) you should get a gt 630, or even cheaper, a gt 610. I have a friend and he runs league maxed out 40-60fps with a gt 610.

I recommend today's NVIDIA GTX 730 or 740 for something like LoL because you should find some around 50-70 bucks and they will really work well. They are built on the Maxwell architecture so they are a bit more efficient than the usual GPU. It'll be worth it, trust me. They'll last long and perform well. But if you are looking to upgrade your computer, grab a NVIDIA GTX 750 or 750ti for $120-$150 now or in the future. A 730 will be enough. Trust me, these cards are all amazing at their price point.
