Hi, I have 2 x R9 290 (XFX DD Black Edition) and a Coolermaster V750S PSU(80 Gold, Tier 2A, Seasonic based). I wonder if I can crossfire the R9 290s with this PSU. I don't over clock. The DD Black edition come with manufacture's OC to 980.
btw, CPU is i5 3570k.

Solution
Yes, it will be fine as long as you don't attempt to OC the cards.
It will push your PSU pretty far, but it's a good PSU so it will handle it fine. :)

^ Those are the recommended specs, but it should be just fine.
If it's not, he could then upgrade to a 850W.
Since it's a high quality PSU, there is no reason not to try it first.
If you experience shutdowns while gaming, then you'll know it's time for 850W. :)

I'm pretty sure it will work. I'm just not sure that it's a good idea. You can sell a good quality used PSU like that pretty easily and use the money to defray the cost of an 850. It's not so easy to sell a burned out PSU.

It would actually be simpler if there was a bigger gap in the capacity vs peak draw. That way you could expect a simple shutdown. If it's just out of the range of the spec capacity, but inside actual capacity, the PSU will keep plugging along, but the strain might shave a considerable amount off it's usable lifetime.

That is true, could TRY and sell it and buy an 850W. But it's a great PSU, and having it run near it's limits (sometimes, such as in games like Crysis 3) should not decrease its lifespan.

Even if it did decrease its lifespan slightly, he'd be buying a new PSU before this would actually happen. :)

That's certainly possible. In my experience though, stressing electrical/electronic components beyond their rated capacity doesn't reduce their lifespan slightly - it does it exponentially. As I said before, it's not a matter of "can", its a matter of "should". A lot of it will depend on frankpe's usage habits.

Very true that it will depend on his usage. Good input :) I also recommend he upgrade to 850W if he can afford to do so.

A great choice is the EVGA Supernova G2 850W. I have the 750W version, and it's amazing. The ripple suppression and voltage regulation is best in class, and it's incredibly cheap for what it is. :)

Hell, my 860 doesn't spin up for my build - I'm obviously doing something wrong - need...to...buy...more...stuff!

Thanks Guys. It's good to see the answer and concerns from both side.
I just got the PSU for 2 weeks, not in a good position to sell. I was planning to CF R9 270/80/X when I got it. It's great value and just enough for all I need.
However, I got a killer deal for the pair of R9 290s for only $500(1 new, 1 near new) last weekend, couldn't miss it... love their LED lights.
I thought it should work, but just not sure if it's tooo much. Hope it's ok, since I don't play long hours on full load (Max 2-3hrs a day)
Hopefully not giving much damage to PSU till my next CPU/RAM upgrade next year. Really wish the next CPU generation can be lower power demanding
