Well compatibility may be the wrong word in some ways, but I want to see if I can use my old case and PSU on this new pc build! The psu I have is a BFG 800w http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817702004
I honestly am not good with the amp/rail thing and have no idea what that fully means so any assistance would be great with that! As for the case, its an older Lian-li, one with a top mounted PSU and no dust vent for it above. It has 2 intake fans in the front, one exhaust at the top, and one below where the PSU would sit. I want to know if this would be enough air flow for no cpu cooler and some cord clutter?

Here`s a review regarding your PSU, so that you can make your own choice: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/3313-bfg-800w-power-supply-review.html
I would not recommend it, but it`s your choice.

Regarding the case, just put everything in there, and start playing games while keeping an eye over the temperatures of your components. MSI Afterburner is a good software that allows you to check your temps even while in-game.

It`s hard to say if it will be good or not, because we don`t know the temperature of your room, and how your case will be seated (desk, floor, carpet, nest to wall or not).

Well the temp of my room will always be around 70-75 Fahrenheit, since we have central air, and yeah thats probably a good idea. But my main concern is just if the PSU will support the gtx 770? its gunna be the 2gig SC FTW version

Well, the PSU should support it, but I`m not sure how it`s going to behave under heavy load.
Also check if your PSU has the 6+2 PCI-e connectors, or just 6 pins.
If you just have 6 pins, you will need an adapter, as the 770 SC FTW has one 6 pin and one 8 pin connectors.

Well the psu has 2 6 pin adapters, and one 8 pin. the 8 pin is not one that can split, just a single 8 pin. if I can save money in any shape or form without worrying about anything I'd hope it would work fine for it, but you guys know best haha. I don't know if thats what the 8 pin connector is for on the psu or not. Idk if this matters because I dont unsderstand it, but it says it has 4 12v rails with 20a each.

I read two reviews about your PSU, and in one of them the PSU burned out during testing.
If you`re in US, if we`re talking about the same PSU, you should have a life-time warranty, and get a replacement for free.
But the problem is that in the process, your PSU might burn out your GPU, mobo, and who knows what else.

Do you really want to risk losing all your parts just to save some money? I understand having a tight budget, but I had to wait 5 years to be able to get my build, and have good parts in it.
It`s just not worth it trying to save money on a PSU. It`s the only component that has the possibility to destroy other components in your PC.

Well I only have about 60 more bucks to spend then, and no its not worth it. http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Builder-Watt-EPS%C2%A0-CX600/dp/B0092ML0OC/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1407137739&sr=1-1&keywords=corsair+600w+power+supply would this be enough then? and i've been waiting a really long time too lol, its been about 9 years now since I've wanted to build a gaming pc. This will be an upgrade from an i3 2370m with intergrated graphics in a laptop. My whole life I wanted a gaming pc haha

Thank you so much for the help. Btw, i'm using an older model lian-li case, not to old. It has the clip in style brackets that go into the motherboard tray for stand offs. Will this leave enough room for my backplate on the motherboard? I don't see why it wouldn't but its always a main concern for me not to short anything out lol.
