Are the WD series better than the Seagate Barracuda series?

Yes, But it depends what model, The WD Black and mate blue and red will way out-perform the Seagate barracuda, But the others like the WD Green and purple most likely will not, (Black are performance) I advise you get a sad for your OS boot drive though, Something cheap like a samsung 840 Evo.

2x1Tb in raid 0, Even at the cost of double the chance for data loss, It is worth it for me. But if you Important data you might want to get the 2Tb model
