any ram will do really, but make sure it's at east 1600mgz, but your mobo can support up to quite fast speeds, I'd just get a g skill ripjaws, they're cheap and effective, difference in ram speeds don't affect much in game

The very best is corsair dominator platinum 2x8gb with 2133 hertz frequency and cas 9 latency. The ram is also very overclockable as well. the vengeance pro version of this (with the same specs) is also very good. The dominator platinum so come with cool light effects. If you don't want these I would go for the vengeance pro. These are the best options if you are using liquid cooling of a slim air cooler. If you are using a massive dual tower cpu cooler you will need the low profile vengeance littlesackninja linked.

Its more about Latency which effects how good your ram is, Along side size of course. Also the CAS, The lower the CAS the better the ram.

It also depends on application... If you're just gaming, the latency and frequencies can be thrown out because you'd just be paying a premium on like 3-5 fps. Money that could basically be spent elsewhere to improve your system. As long as the ram is 1600Mhz and cas9, it won't create too many problems.

If you're doing a bit of stuff that would effectively take advantage of the lower latency and frequencies, then the extra cost could be justified.

I agree I would just go for some corsair vengeance kits, they are reliable and the cheaper ones are 1600mgz and cas 9. Also latency and cas are the same thing it is called cas latency

Sorry I forgot to mention lower cas is better for content creators and video editing. Higher frequency is better for gaming

@Zitrome, Actually, it's the other way around if I remember correctly. The problem is that there really wouldn't be much of a difference in gaming so unless there's like a few dollars difference that's negligible for the build budget, it's not worth it.

For gaming, any frequency over 1600mhz won't make a difference, someone with the same setup using 1600mgz ram will get the same fps as someone on 2400mhx ram, give or take or 2 fps

With what you have, I'd look at the GSkill Snipers or Ripjaws X in 1866/9 both work very well with the 8350, any higher is iffy (some 8350s can run higher freqs but there's no guarantee)
