Need help finding lost files

I use mywinlocker app in my windows 7 which provides a drive called yosafe. There I keep my private files. About a year ago when I opened the yosafe I found that no files were there ... I don't know where the files gone ...for sure I didn't deleted it..

That time I didn't take it seriously because I thought it can be recovered using some recovery software...

But I can't .. I tried remo recovery , stellar phoenix , wondersharw , recuva.. nothing helped..

Those files mean my life time to me.. is there anything at all I can do to recover my lost files...

Encryption will stop pretty much any recovery software.

You might be able to get a data recovery firm to look at it if you provide the keys, but beyond that there's little hope.

I have.key to open the mywinlocker but the.file is not there ..that's What the problem is

Does the data recovery software you've tried find the file?

If not, there's little hope beyond taking it to a data recovery firm.

No . The data recovery softwares didn't find any..

And I am still able to use mywinlocker

But I don't.understand how all files went missing all of a sudden

Is that possible at first

I want to try that little hope too ...

But I m very much an end user so I don't know how it works...

And yosafe ,the drive created by mywinlocker must be part of c drive . Right ?

So if something ia deleted or lost.from c drive how can we recover

It is encrypted. Which makes it random data that the recovery software cannot read. The only hope is that it can find the outer file containing said random data. It sounds like it can't so that's it. No hope left that I can see.

I can't think of anything, other than handing it over to data recovery.

This is why backups are important.

I can't think of anything at a consumer level that might work.

One of the huge issues you did is you waited a year to try to fix this. Over a year your system would be writing to the drive space used by the files over and over, over-writting anything that may have been there to recover. If it's that important, bring the drive to a data recovery shop. The longer you mess with it, the less chance you have or getting anything back. Although with an encryption, since it scrambles the data, even a drive recovery shop may not be able to do anything.

As said before, next time, keep backups of your files on a separate drive even if you encrypt the backups as well.
