I think you accidentally selected the locked version of the processor and the case doesn't have USB 3.0

Yeah, I chose a locked version as it is needed at all. But I made a mistake with the case. :)

If you chose the locked processor than there is not need to get a Z series motherboard.

If your heart is set on the MSI 780, then you're going to have to make sacrifices somewhere else. I went for a great budget case and nixed the SSD. I also move up to the latest CPU, better motherboard and added an EVO for mild overclocking.

Personally, i'd go with AMD for the GPU as they are better value and probably get a cheap KB and mouse for now and upgrade them later.

Yeah, if you have trust issues with amd cards, ( Don't blame you) A high end 780 will be just as good really in 1080p, you won't notice the difference in fps http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DPWM4D
here's a newer build, with a nvidia card, but it costs 1520

I made a few tweaks to legend00152's build to bring down the price, add a CPU cooler so you can OC and faster RAM. The 850w PSU is overkill but it's the same price as the 750w at the moment and only about $6 more than the 620w.
