Hi All,
Hoping for some advise
I purchased a Dell Inspiron 570 system back in 2010 when I knew little about PC Gaming.
I have managed to get by, simply upgrading the GPU and PSU.
However now the CPU is really bottlenecking and so I want to upgrade the system. Obviously I'd like to do this without purchasing a brand new system.
Specs
Win 7 64 bit
AMD Phenom II x4 2.8Ghz
Some Dell motherboard
8GB Ram at 1033 Mhz
Sapphire R9 280X DualX 3GB (purchased myself as GPU provided was useless)
Corsair TX650 (purchased myself)
1TB HDD
standard disk drive with Blu Ray player.
Ideally I am looking at an intel i5, Z97, 8GB Ram motherboard bundle from Overlcockers or Novatech for around £350-£400.
My fear is that it is a Dell system so I know the Win 7 is locked to the mobo so I will need a new Version. But I'm also concerned as to whether the HDD and disk drives will simply plug in and play etc.
I'm not a PC genius, I understand them but don't build them and have little experience doing so. I want to avoid any driver, configuration issues etc as I like stress free gaming, especially when I'm forking out £400.
Any advice or personal experience would be appreciated,
Reiss
