Hello guys , i did my search and all i found was people comparing between 4690 and 4790 CPU'S , well i cant find any 4690 where i live so i will be forced to get either the 4460 or the 4790

i already decided to get Geforce GTX 780 windforce as it's a strong card which will remain for years , but the choice of CPU bothers me for days , i heard that the Hyper threading does not mean much for gaming , but when i look to find the difference in benchmarks between 4460 and 4790 in gaming FPS , i could not find any , maybe im bad at searching or this 4460 does not have much kind of information like the 4790 ...

so , can anyone get me benchmark results comparison for both ? also , which u recommend for gaming PC for years to come ( i will use 23.6 PLS LED Samsung monitor if thats an important input )

thanks in advance :)

For gaming i5 4460 will be fine. Many games don't have support for hyperthreading so no fps increase really. Yes the i7 4790 is still slightly faster due to the higher clock speed but its only a small fps difference.
Save some money and spend it on a i5 4660.

Here you go mate cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4790-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4460

The 4790 costs about $100-$120 USD more than the 4460.
I would say get an i5 4690k. It is almost as good as the 4790 but it can be overclocked to be a lot better. The price is in the middle of the two, $60 more than the 4460 and $80 less than the 4790. For gaming go for the k model.

well thank u for the reply , i found a retailer selling i5 4690 , it's 3.5 GHZ for a little higher price than the 4460 , so i should go with this ?

Also i have a question , about the mother board , i dont plan to over clock in this gaming PC , so i have 3 choices to choose the Mother board from :

Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H , Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H & Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI

which of them is most recommended ?

Go with the H97 board as you are not overclocking (You can't with a non-k processor). And if you still want to have hyperthreading for a lower price, you can get the Xeon E3-1231 V3 it is about $60 cheaper than the i7 (The difference between both is the lack of an iGPU on the Xeon, and slightly lower clocks, but you're getting more for your money.).
