Do you really need inbuilt speakkers to hear beeps on your motherboard?

Some motherboards have inbuilt speakers, but most do not. They are very cheap though, and plug into the speaker port on your motherboard.

Yes you do. Although some stock dell, hp, etc. motherboards come with a speaker built in so it depends on the motherboard.
