hello experts, can i use different brands of ram?

here is the ram

1.) 2GB KINGSTON DDR2 333Mhz and has 5-5-5-15-2T
2.) 2GB CRUCIAL DDR2 400Mhz and has 6-6-6-18-2T

will it function well? or would do something wrong in my pc?

TIA !!!!

Solution
Technically it "should" function as the higher clocked frequency will downclock itself to lowest frequency memory in the system. The 400 would run as 333; however, when you get into timing difference and the quirks of each memory, it can quickly become a headache and you are asking for instability. It is generally recommended to run similar memory across all of your slots.
Hello,
333MHz or 400MHz? I strongly recommend you save up for sometime now and spend atleast on 1200MHz if you're planning to upgrade your RAM. Both of them are ancient RAMs, although they have good CL(Latency), none of them are good enough to sustain your PC in the future, considering how tech is moving forth.

And, both of them can send ~66 reports of data in a second, whereas 1200MHz RAMs with CL6 can send ~200 reports in the same time, which simply means they are better, which they are. Don't waste your money, save it up for the near future, where you may buy 1200MHz for a few extra bucks.
