It happens sometimes but I have had great success with G. Skill. I have only ever had one DOA memory stick from them and they promptly took care of the issue. They do not mess around when it comes to their quality.

Did you purchase these new? If so, contact G. Skill and have them set up a RMA for you. Did you test both of the sticks in the same memory slot? It is possible one of your slots went bad. But again, if the memory is bad then contact G. Skill as they have a lifetime warranty on their memory.

As it's only been a week, I'd contact your seller and get it RMA'd right away. A replacement would hopefully prevent any future problems experienced by only repairing a faulty stick, if it is indeed faulty. You'll probably need to send both sticks back though, as they're paired up at the manufacturer.

Happened to me with Vengeance RAM. I thought I could repair the faulty stick..ended up with only 4gb for the longest time.

yes i tested them in the same memory slot and only one of them gives bsod. guess ill have to spend another 2 weeks returning and receiving. god, i hate factory damaged hardware. isnt there a way to fix it myself or to contact a repairguy in my area?

Just about every manufacturer has lifetime memory warrantees to original purchaser.

How did you test memory ? memtest 86+ ?
http://www.memtest.org/

1. With both modules in the slots designated in thr MoBo manual, run memtest 86+ .... if you get any failures, stop the test and move on.
2. Test each stick by itself in the 1st of the two designated slots
3. Test each stick by itself in the 1st of the two designated slots

Then you will know if the problem is the slot or a module. Also clean the gold contacts with 99% isoprophly alcohol or contact cleaner before starting.

If there's a failure, call manufacturer and RMA it .... if you give a credit card number, they will generally send you new set 1st and then you can return defective one in same packaging.
